Week 2 of the High School Football season saw CVCA travel to Kent to face Roosevelt. The Royals and Rough Riders were playing for the first time ever. It was also the first varsity football game on Kent's newly finished turf playing surface. A scoreless first half led to an early break. The 2nd half would be a different story. CVCA got their ground attack going and didn't look back. Four 2nd half rushing touchdowns gave the Royals a 28-0 win to move to 1-1 on the year. In week 3, CVCA will host crosstown rival Woodridge in the final non-conference game of the season.
