The CVCA football team traveled down to Tuslaw on Friday night for week 9 of the season. The Royals had to battle the Mustangs on this night. The first half ended scoreless despite both teams making trips to the redzone. CVCA opened the scoring early in the 3rd quarter after a Tuslaw miscue on the kickoff. Senior
Kyle Snider scored from 5 yards out on the ground. The Mustangs answered with a scoring drive of their own and the game was tied at 7-7. The Royals answered with quickly on a 30 yard touchdown run by freshman
Joey Kopec. The third quarter ended with CVCA driving and leading 14-7. Early in the 4th quarter, junior
Ricky Levak added a 5 yard rushing touchdown to put CVCA ahead by 2 scores. Tuslaw answered, but after a missed extra point the score was 21-13 in favor of CVCA. The Royals were able to put the game away with two more 4th quarter touchdowns (Kopec 47 yards & Snider 20 yards). A late Mustang touchdown made the final score 35-20 and CVCA improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
