The CVCA wrestling team competed at the District Tournament this past weekend. Nine Royals participated looking to qualify for the State Championship. CVCA wrestled well and finished 3rd overall at the Division II Tournament at Garfield Heights. Owen Nelson, Rocco Czarnecki, Braden Hahlen, and Kyle Snider finished in the top 4 and earned trips to State. Kyle Snider took home the District Championship at 190 lbs and is now a 3x winner at this level. Owen Nelson (106) and Rocco Czarnecki (113) finished as runners-up in their respective brackets and Braden Hahlen (120) took 3rd. Tony Collins, Seth Nerone, Nathanael Nevmerzycki, Niall Walker, and Jeffrey Summer all wrestled well and made it to Day 2 of the District Tournament. The OHSAA is set to hold their 2023 Wrestling State Championships on March 10th, 11th, and 12th at the OSU Schottenstein Center.
