The CVCA baseball team hosted Orrville on Monday night. The Royals and Red Riders both are still battling near the top of the conference standings. CVCA scored twice in the 2nd inning to grab the lead. Orrville answered in the 4th inning and went ahead 3-2. The Royals went scoreless in the bottom of the 4th but put together a strong 5th inning. They tied the game on an RBI groundout by Luke Wiggers. That brought Logan Scranton to the plate with a man on third. Scranton sent a 3-1 pitch way over the left field fence for a go ahead two run home run. Both teams scored once in the 6th and CVCA held on for the 6-4 win. Senior Jonathan Fridline picked up the win out of the bullpen. The Royals will travel to Northwest on Tuesday.
