The CVCA football team entered Friday night's game against Orrville looking to extend their six game winning streak. The Royals opened the scoring with a long opening drive that ended with a 1 yard touchdown run by junior
Joey Kopec. Orrville kicked a field goal to make the score 6-3. The Royals scored again early in the 2nd quarter on another

Ryan Wiehe scored from 9 yards out with just under one minute to play in the first half to push the score to 19-3. The visiting Red Riders were able to move into position and connected on a 46 yard field goal with just 9 second left in 2nd quarter. All signs pointed to a two score game (19-6) at halftime, but CVCA had other plans.
Joey Kopec took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards for another CVCA touchdown as the half expired. CVCA now led 27-6 and gained a huge boost in momentum. In the second half of play, the Royals really took control of the game.
Charley Levak scored from 25 yards out and
Tommy Kopec scored on a 19 yard run. Orrville added a late touchdown, but CVCA went on to win the game by a score of 41-14. The Royals have now won 7 straight games and are outscoring their opponents 267-66 in that stretch. They will host Manchester in Week 10 for the final match up between these two rivals.
