The CVCA baseball team traveled to Manchester on Monday for an important conference game. Monday night was a classic pitchers' duel between the Royals and Panthers. Both offenses were held hit-less through the first 6 innings of play. In the top of the 7th inning, senior Nicky Rovelli led off with a single. He advanced to 2nd base on a failed pick-off attempt. Junior John Harabedian bunted Rovelli over to 3rd base to put the go ahead run just 90 feet away. Two batters later, junior Thad Eaton lined a 2-out single into right center to drive in the go ahead run. In the bottom of the 7th, junior John Harabedian capped off an impressive no-hit performance with strikeouts 11, 12, and 13. He pitched all 7 innings without allowing a run or a hit to secure the 1-0 road victory for CVCA. The Royals will host Manchester on Wednesday.
