The CVCA baseball team faced off against Woodridge on Monday in a District Semi-final game at Gilmour Academy. The first three innings flew by without either team scoring a run. CVCA broke through in the 4th behind a 2 out, 2 run double by senior Luke Wiggers. Sophomore Connor McGough hit a sacrifice fly in the 5th to extend the lead to 3-0. Three runs proved to be plenty behind the pitching of junior John Harabedian. Harabedian pitched a complete game shutout to secure the win for CVCA. He allowed just 2 hits and struck out 14. CVCA (23-4) secured a spot in the District Championship with this win. They will face Gilmour Academy at 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 22nd at Gilmour Academy. The Royals are seeking their first District Title since 2004.
