The CVCA football team hosted Lake Catholic on Friday night. The Royals and Cougars met in non-conference action this season before beginning North Coast Conference competition in 2025. Lake Catholic scored first to take a 6-0 lead. CVCA tried to answer but stalled out. The visiting Cougars then began to capitalize on turnovers by the Royals. At the half, Lake Catholic led by a score of 26-0. After the score moved to 33-0, the Royals were able to find their lone score of the night. Quarterback Charley Levak connect with wide receiver Brayden Harris for a 19 yard score. The game would end with the final score of 33-7 in favor of the visitors. CVCA will make the short trip to Woodridge in Week 3.
