The CVCA football team made the short trip to Woodridge on Friday night for a week 3 match-up with the Bulldogs. Both teams entered the game hungry for a win. Pregame rain mostly cleared out by kickoff. The Royals opened the scoring late in the first quarter on a touchdown run by Charley Levak. They added to their lead on a long TD run by Levak half way through the 2nd quarter and led 14-0. A late scoring drive capped of by a Nick Schober rushing touchdown put CVCA ahead by 21 points at the half. The rain returned for the 2nd half of play but it didn't slow down the Royals. CVCA controlled the ball with their rushing attack throughout the game. Ryan Wiehe rushed for the only 2nd half score of the night and the Royals led 28-0. The CVCA defense finished off an impressive performance by securing the shutout. They allowed less than 100 yards of total offense on the night and forced 5 turnovers. The team is now 1-2 on the season and they will travel to Tuslaw in Week 4.
