Royals impress on 4MUK Night

10/13/2025 8:30:00 AM

Friday night was a special night in Royals Stadium. The CVCA community rallied together in support of Coach Muklewicz and his family as he battles cancer. 4MUK t-shirts filled stadium and donations poured in all night. Everyone in attendance could feel the togetherness of the night. The Royals also played their part of making it a great night on the field. CVCA dominated NDCL in a key North Coast Conference match up and the Fox 8 Friday Night Touchdown Game of the Week. The Royals raced out to a 35-0 lead in the first half and cruised to victory. The boys are now 7-0 on the season for the first time since 2003. The Royals have now won 15 straight regular season contests and 17 of their last 18 games played. CVCA has unofficially clinched a home playoff game according to Joe Eitel and will look to earn a first round bye. The team will hit the road in Week 9 and face Padua.

To say the Royals started fast in this game would be an understatement. Zac Anderson burst through a big hole on the left side for a 69 yard touchdown run on the third play of the night. NDCL's first drive ended with a long missed field goal and the Royals took over at the 20. In a flash, Joey Kopec was running 80 yards to the end zone and CVCA led 14-0 after 4 offensive snaps. After a Dirk Geiger interception on a tipped pass, Tommy Kopec joined the scoring action with a 7 yard touchdown. After one quarter of play, CVCA led 21-0.

The Royals continued to dominate in the 2nd quarter. The Royals defense stifled the visiting Lions and forced punt after punt. Charle Levak pushed CVCA's lead to 28 with a 14 yard rushing touchdown. Later in the quarter, Charley Levak connect with Tommy Kopec for a 31 yard touchdown on a great throw and catch. The rout was on and the second half was set to begin under the running clock rules. The CVCA defense forced two more turnovers in the 2nd half of play before NDCL scored on their final possession of the night.
