The CVCA football team hosted Elyria Catholic on Friday night in the final game of the 2025 regular season. The Royals were looking to secure an undefeated regular season and an outright North Coast Conference title with a win over the Panthers. The boys set the tone for the game on the opening drive and raced out to a 28-0 lead. Elyria Catholic found the end zone late in the 2nd quarter to enter halftime down 22. The Royals came out strong in the 2nd half and scored three touchdowns in the 3rd quarter to pull away. EC added a late score but CVCA impressed again in a 49-14 victory. With the win, the Royals end the 2025 regular season undefeated with a record of 9-0. They are crowned North Coast Conference champions with a conference record of 5-0. The team has now won 17 straight regular season game and 19 of their last 20 game including playoffs. This is the first undefeated regular season in team history. CVCA has secured the #2 seed in the Division III Region 9
bracket and a first round bye. The Royals will host the winner of #7 Alliance & #10 Geneva on Friday, November 7th.

Joey Kopec broke multiple tackle attempts by the Panthers and raced 50 yards for a touchdown. CVCA went in front by two scores when
Joey Kopec scored his 2nd rushing touchdown, this one from 12 yards out. In the 2nd quarter, the Royals continued to control the game as they went up by 28 points.
Charley Levak connected with
Brayden Harris for a 24 yard touchdown strike and
Zac Anderson added a 42 yard touchdown run. Levak's touchdown pass was his 16th of the season which is a new CVCA single season record. CVCA as in control of the game and they dominated total yards and time of possession. Elyria Catholic found an open receiver over the top for a long game and scored a few play later to avoid the first half shutout.
CVCA quickly returned to the driver's seat in this game in the 3rd quarter. They outscored the Panthers 21-0 in the quarter and pushed their lead out to 43 points. This was the 4th consecutive week with a running clock.
Wesley Keeler scored two rushing touchdowns , 3 yards, and 38 yard, in the quarter.
Joey Kopec capped of his impressive night with a 47 yard touchdown, his third of the night. A late Panthers score only made the box score look slight better from their season. CVCA racked up 421 yards of total offense included an average of 8.8 yard per play. The team will look to continue to play great all around football in the State Playoffs.
