The CVCA softball team hosted Padua on Thursday in North Coast Conference action. The visiting Bruins were able to build a five run lead over the first two and a half innings of play. The Royals were able to score once in the third inning and three times in fifth inning to cut the deficit to one. Padua added an insurance run in each of the final two innings while the CVCA offense was unable to score again. The 7-4 loss drops CVCA to 7-7. They are set to host Holy Name on Friday.
