The CVCA baseball team traveled to Mogadore on Tuesday to face Field in a tournament tune-up game. Both the Royals and Falcons are looking to make deep postseason runs after strong showings in the regular season. Field struck first with a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 3rd inning. CVCA quickly answered with 6 runs over their own in the top of the 4th inning.
Connor McGough opened the scoring with a single that scored
Ryan Wiehe.
Evan Wensel drove in
John Harabedian and McGough with a single.
Nik Wirsching put the Royals in front with a single that scored
Thad Eaton.
Ryan Wiehe capped off the inning with a double that scored both Wensel and
Daniel Walker. CVCA added three runs in the 5th inning and one more in the 6th.

Jonah Gaudio singled to score Eaton and Wensel in the 5th.

Zac Anderson with his 3rd hit of the day in the 7th.
Kyle Shaw got the start and the win on the mound for the Royals. He went 4 innings allowing just 2 unearned runs.
Alex Mammone pitched two scoreless to secure the 10-2 win. CVCA improves to 18-7 and will open tournament play on Thursday against Youngstown East.
