The CVCA baseball team will play in the Regional Championship game for the first time in program history on Thursday. The Royals earned a hard fought 4-3 win over Wooster in 8 innings today to keep their season alive. CVCA fell behind 1-0 in the first inning of play. Wooster extended their lead to 2-0 in the 4th inning, but the Royals answered in the 5th. With 2 outs,

John Baker and CVCA led 3-2. That lead was short live as Wooster tied things up again in the bottom of the 5th inning. Both teams had chances late, but couldn't capitalize and the game went to extra innings. In the top of the 8th inning,
Ryan Wiehe scored on a bases loaded walk by
Thad Eaton and the Royals led 4-3. CVCA finished off the Generals in the bottom of the 8th inning for the win. Senior
John Harabedian pitched six strong innings allowing just 2 earned runs while striking out 8. Sophomore
Alex Mammone picked up the win in relief pitching two scoreless innings. With the win, CVCA advances to Thursday's Regional Championship. They will face University School at 5pm at Hudson. This victory was thh 500th win in program history.
