The CVCA girls lacrosse team hosted Chagrin Falls on Thursday night in Royals Stadium. It was a great game between the Royals and Tigers as CVCA had their sights set on taking down one of the areas top programs. CVCA pounced on the Tigers right out of the gate with a four-goal first quarter. Junior Greta Bigham had a pair, while Zoe Polyak and Jessica Hart had one goal apiece to give the Royals a 4-2 edge at the first break. Chagrin Falls tightened the defense from there and limited the Royals to just 2 goals in the 2nd quarter and 0 goals in the 2nd half. The Royals defense, led by Jules Truax, remained tough and battled for every possession. Chagrin chipped away and found the tying goal with just over 5 minutes remaining. At that point, the Royals could have broke and gave in to the momentum the Tigers had gained. The CVCA girls didn't. They continued to battle and force overtime. Just 35 seconds into overtime, freshman Jules Youssefi drew a free position and scored the game winning goal. The Royals bench exploded as the girls improved ro 4-0 on the season.
