The CVCA flag football team traveled to Nordonia High School on Friday night for a doubleheader against two Medina Schools. The Royals faced off against Highland and Medina Christian to kick off 4 games in 3 days. The girls were able to secure wins in both games to improve to 7-1 on the season. They will wrap of the regular season on Sunday with two more games.
CVCA 18 - Highland 12
The Royals scored with less than a minute left to go in the game on a
Savannah Crews 6 yard run, then held on with a goal line stand for the win.
Kaci Cherry and and
Chloe Kroslak added touchdowns.
Raela Zapsic completed 11 of 14 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. Defensively,
Giana Frye had 4 tackles (flag pulls) and 4 sacks along with a pass breakup while
Chloe Kroslak had 5 tackles (flag pulls) and 4 pass breakups.
Kylie Marshall added an interception.
CVCA 32 - Medina Christian 6
Chloe Kroslak's 3 interceptions including a pick six, 5 tackles (flag pulls), and 3 pass breakups led a strong defensive effort.
Kaitlyn Hopkins added 3 tackles (flag pulls) and 2 pass breakups. Offensively,
Savannah Crews had 2 touchdowns while
Liv Oravec and and
Kaci Cherry each had touchdowns.
