Softball splits DH with Northwest

The softball team hosted future PAC-7 member Northwest High School in a double header on Saturday. It was a beautiful day for softball and these two teams put together two solid games. Northwest would win game 1 and CVCA would win game 2. The Royals are now 3-6 on the season.

In game 1, Northwest struck early with a run in the first and 4 runs in the 2nd. Those 5 runs proved enough as CVCA managed just 3 runs. Chloe Warren had 3 singles and 2 runs scored for the Royals. Kally Ashton added 2 singles, 2 doubles, and 1 RBI. Katelynn Justice pitched 7 innings and recorded 5 strikeouts.

Game 2 was a different story for the CVCA hitters. The Royals would register 12 hits and scored 8 runs on their way to a victory. Lindsey Curcio had 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 1 run scored. Kally Ashton hit 3 singles and scored 3 runs. Autumn Foguth added a single and 2 RBI. Lindsey Curcio picked up her first win on the mound. She pitched 7 innings, struck out 4, and did not allowed a walk.

The Royals will travel to Indian Valley on Monday, April 18th.
