Baseball began the OHSAA State Tournament with a home game on Thursday afternoon. The Royals hosted the Cardinals of East Cleveland's Shaw High School in the Sectional Semi-final. CVCA came in as the #5 seed in the District, while Shaw was seeded 11th. The boys controlled the game from start to finish winning 15-0. The offense collected 14 hits on the day. Three pitchers combined to allow no runs on no hits.
Nine different Royals collected hits on the day.
Chris Punka was 3-3 with 3 RBI and 2 R.
Josh Thacker and
Drew Wilson both went 2-2 with 2 R and 2 RBI.
Noah Brook also collected 2 hits and added 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Chris Punka combined for the no-hitter on the mound.
The Royals will face Crestwood in the Sectional Final on Friday, May 13th. That game will be played at Crestwood at 4:30pm.
