CVCA Football traveled to Campbell for a week 2 matchup with Memorial High School on Friday night. It was a perfect, fall night for football with a crispness in the air.
The first quarter end with zeros on the scoreboard. Neither team was able to convert for a score.Â
In the 2nd quarter, Memorial was able to score twice. They missed their first extra point and were stopped on a 2 point try after the second TD. They led 12-0 through half-time.Â
Memorial added another score in the 3rd quarter, increasing their lead to 19-0. The Royals would answer with a 10 yard touchdown run by
Tre Tucker. The 3rd quarter ended with the score at 19-7.
CVCA scored again early in the 4th quarter to cut the deficit to one score. This time
Brock Simmons connected with
Tre Tucker on a 20 yard pass for the touchdown. After
Chris DeLucia added his 2nd extra point on the night, the Royals trailed by just 5. Memorial responded with a scoring drive when CVCA need a stop. The Red Devils added one more score late in the 4th quarter. Final Score: CVCA 14 - Memorial 32
