Football moves to 7-2 with win over Triway

The 2017 CVCA football season has been one to remember, and it's not over yet. The Royals dominated Triway on Friday night for a 34-3 win. CVCA is now 7-2 on the season and will have the conference championship and a potential playoff birth on the line in week 10. The offense set a new school record for points in a season with their 2nd touchdown on Friday night. The defense held its first team without a touchdown on the season. CVCA will travel to Manchester on Friday, October 27th. They can tie for 1st place in the PAC-7 with a win and will put themselves in a position for a possible playoff birth. On the other side, the Panthers will be looking to win the conference outright, and Coach France will have chance to move into 1st place in Ohio history for career coaching wins. This will be a game you want to be at and should plan to be there early.

CVCA's ground attack led the way on this night. In the first quarter, Tre Tucker scored 2 rushing touchdowns as he continues to find the end zone week after week. The Royals held a 13-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Jordan Decatur increased the Royals' lead to 20-0 with a long 49 yard touchdown run. After a Triway field goal, CVCA would drive and score again. This time, Elijah Payne ran 6 yards for a touchdown. CVCA took the 27-3 led into the locker room at half-time.

It was a quick 2nd half as the game went to a running clock after David DiBlasi scored a 1 yard touchdown run. With the led now over 30, the running clock rule was implemented. The Royals defense held strong and was determined not to allow another score. The night was capped off with a defensive play late in the game that featured all 11 seniors for CVCA. It was a great final home game for CVCA.
