The CVCA softball team used power hitting and pitching to knock off Aurora in the District Semifinals on Tuesday night. The Royals defeated the #1 seeded Greenmen by a score of 5-2 to advance to the District Final. CVCA scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning that proved to be more than enough. Kally Ashton put the Royals on the board with a 2 run homer. Jackie Budrevich added a 2 run double in the inning to grab the momentum for CVCA. Lindsey Curcio made sure the lead would hold with a stellar performance on the mound. She pitched a complete game allowing just 2 runs while striking out 7. The Royals will face Crestwood on Thursday night in the District Final. The game will be played at Firestone Stadium at 6pm.
