Scouting the Royals
CVCA had five different players score touchdowns against University School last Friday night. Junior quarterback Charley Levak opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run – his 11th rushing touchdown of the season, and the Royals never looked back. Levak also completed 7 of 9 passes for 102 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Zac Anderson. Junior Joey Kopec had 77 yards on the ground, including a 2-yard touchdown run and went over 1,000 yards for the second time in his career. On defense, Kopec also had a 44-yard pick-six, which means he has rushed for 10 touchdowns, passed for one, caught a touchdown pass, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and had a pick-six for a score as well. Senior Ryan Wiehe continued his strong final campaign with 103 yards on nine carries and another touchdown run and an interception against US. Freshman Tommy Kopec also had a 15-yard touchdown run and recorded one of CVCA's four interceptions against the Preppers and junior Brayden Harris caught five balls for 58 yards and had a theft through the air on defense as well. CVCA's defense has picked off 20 passes on the season.

Scouting the Hilltoppers
Chardon junior quarterback Drayton Allgood rushed for 131 yards and a score in Chardon's 49-14 first round win against Tallmadge. The quarterback added 97 yards passing, all to senior teammate Caleb Hewitt. Hewitt recorded 186 all-purpose yards, including the 97 yards through the air on three catches, plus another 64 yards rushing. Hewitt also had 25 yards in kick-return yardage and one pass breakup on defense at cornerback. All-Ohio senior linebacker Alexander Ash led the Hilltoppers' defense against Tallmadge with 13 tackles, including eight solo hits and 4 ½ TFL. He also ran back a pick-six 32 yards to score, forced a fumble, recovered one and broke up a pass. Fullback Vinny Colombi scored a pair of first quarter rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to 10, despite being limited to just five regular season games due to injury.
